Advocacy

The Voice of Membership

Texas PTA's legislative work is driven by a grassroots model that seeks input and voice from our PTAs and their members. A series of resolutions and legislative positions, each of which is adopted by our members during the annual meeting, provide a framework that allows the Texas PTA Board of Directors to establish legislative priorities and act effectively on behalf of our members. VOTER REGISTRATION INFORMATIONWhere to register: Applications can be picked up from the local library, US Post Office, DMV, High Schools, or Texas Dept. of Health and Human Services office. They can also be found online at VoteTexas.gov, printed, filled out, and mailed or taken to the Voter Registrar (may be same as county tax assessor-collector) in your county of residence. Qualified applicants can vote as soon as the 30th day after submitting an application.

Arts in Education

Reflections

Through the efforts of our Local PTAs, millions of students have found a creative outlet in the areas of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts. With positive recognition as the focus of this program, rather than competition, students of all ages and abilities can experience the benefits of creative expression and help in finding their own voice in telling their unique story. The Reflections program is an annual competition, open to all Texas students who meet the necessary requirements. Rules and entry forms are on the Texas PTA website. Look for it soon!

Fundraising

Student and Teacher Benefits

This year fundraising is a challenge due to the lack of in person activities. We have joined with several corporate partnerships with easy ways to help PTSA earn money through your every day purchases. The profits go to student scholarships and also help us fund parent education programs and staff appreciation events.
